The Herb Appeal is my creative passion come to life. Opened in 2012, it began as a dream, and as of April 2015, it became my full time employment! I left my teaching career after 12 years, and am happily consumed by family, nature, and creating.

As a little girl, growing up in the woods of Upstate New York, I spent my time surrounded by the beauty of Mother Nature and I've had a life long love and appreciation for what she has to offer. I am infatuated by the simplicity of natural surroundings, from the feel, look, and taste, to the healing properties of all plants, I just can't grow, read or create enough from them! I am fortunate now to live in a climate that allows me to do just that virtually year round!

Now relocated in SW Florida, my garden thrives, and as a traveler, my research and gathering continues and I live to be creative and useful. My two young children have inspired many of my creations, as I develop new products based on their needs, as well as mine and my customers, I am proud to live in a chemical-free, green home, where we eat a primarily plant based diet, and I love to share that and all with others!

While on my maternity leave, after giving birth to my daughter, Ember, I did a lot of pondering In the wee hours of the morning, when everyone was sleeping, but I was up breastfeeding a little one who just would not sleep. I put the thoughts that I had long had about packaging and selling my creations down to paper. I began creating a rough "sketch" of a small business built around the recipes that I had created for use in my own home. After some thoughtful brainstorming, I decided to call my business sketch, "The Herb Appeal". The name just made sense to me, as nature is so appealing. It is from there that my dream took off!

It is my dream to someday own a store front, which I envision in a quaint cottage. It will have a prosperous greenhouse tucked in the back and hopefully a change of seasons other than "hot" and "hotter". At one point, leaving my teaching job of 12 years to run my business was just a dream, until April 2015, when I walked away from my tenure to do just that! I am thankful every day for this blessing, as well as for the customers that make that possible.

Every product that ships from The Herb Appeal is handmade by me with love and care. Each package that leaves my home passes my own perfection standards (as I am harder on myself than anyone else is!) because every customer is important to me. I take great pride in my packaging, giving each order special attention, special touches, and little extras that are lovely to open and to gift.
